was born in Prey Veng province,Cambodia.
She recieved her first instrumental training in traditional Khmer music at her home village and joined Buddhistic ceremonies with several music groups.Her father was a victim of the Pol Pot regime. After self-instruction, she recieved training from her teacher Mr.Eang Seng Thai in 1990 and continued her studies for 6 years at the Royal University of Fine Arts under local and temporary guest teachers. She acquired a teaching position in flute at the Faculty of music in Phnom Penh. Since 2001, she has taken lessons from Anton Isselhardt / Germany and she gained instrumental experiences in Western Classical Chamber Music. In 2005 Him Savy participated in the flute group of the ASEAN youth Orchestra.
